the 50's

Last week was Halle's 50th day of first grade.

To celebrate, all 7 first grade classes had a sock hop! 

They also had cheeseburgers and fries for lunch and a root beer float for snack.

Halle came home trying to explain what a record player was.  That was pretty funny.  ("You put these really big circle-things on the spinner-part and then Ms Teena put another thing on top and it played music!")

  Cate asked for a poodle skirt too- and I have a hard time saying no to requests like that- but instead of a poodle she wanted either a dolphin or a horse...

Horse it was.
