October Tradition

Ty attempted a "face with eyes and mouths":
Halle wanted her to "be a girl" this year.  Hence, the eyelashes, I guess:
And Cate.  (Sigh.)  She drew hers, assured me she was done, and then cried after it was carved.  (So typical.)  So I let her add some extras:
(Those are cheeks, "eyebrowns" and a forehead.)
 Much better.  :)
Can you guess who this one belongs to?
It looks like a Veggie Tales character to me.
 The Pumpkin Family of 2012:
(Is it crazy that our pumpkin family now produces enough light to take pictures with??  Ha!)
We tried to get Ty to join in, but every picture with him looks like this:
The ghosty kids blowing out the pumpkins (the best part!)

** We do know that Jack O Lanterns have a very pagan beginning.  We make it a point to talk about fall, and celebrating God's creation and provision.  Also, carving pumpkins is a great object lesson in letting your light shine! (Matthew 5:16)
